Greetings from Philadelphia, I just wanted to say that was an excellent discussion of Farenheit 451 and I look forward to your next book club (nice choice of American Gods, I’ve had the hardcover for a few years and this will finally give me the motivation to actually read the thing).

I honestly cannot remember how I came across this podcast, but I would like to thank you (and Geek Syndicate) for helping me get through my arduous work day of being trapped in a cubicle. Thanks again and keep up the good work.

My wife and I have become ardent fans of this series. It’s not staggeringly profound or original, but it features a likable cast and serves as a nice, weekly fantasy fix.

Having been to both San Diego Comicon and the Alternative Press Expo (APE), I much prefer APE. Far greater emphasis placed on comics (rather than videogames, movies, TV shows, and celebrity guests).

Thanks for the info Ian, I look forward to seeing an announcement about the Dimension Jump convention soon. As for it being a rip off, since I don’t know the organisers, nor at this time know how much they are charging for an autograph, I wouldn’t like to make such an accusation about the price. Actually a quick look at their website does give you the prices for different levels of ticket and how much they charge and it seems very reasonable to me.

However, it is also typically for guests to charge for an autograph or photograph, and indeed many TV and film stars attend unofficial conventions, or collectormania type events such as those held in Milton Keynes. I don’t think this event exists to rip off the fans, more so allow them to meet the stars, and if there was a serious problem with I doubt the stars of Red Dwarf would all have signed on.

This is an unofficial convention, not endorsed by Grant Naylor Productions, the BBC or Dave. It seems to exist solely to rip off the fans. The Official Red Dwarf Fan Club are expected to announce their latest Dimension Jump convention soon – hold out and go to that one, unless you want to pay extortionate prices for autographs and photos, rather than getting them for free at DJ.

Thanks for the comments. I should do what you suggest and check out the books, Melissa. I’ve not watched it yet, but I’m just about to sit down and watch the first (maybe even the second) episode.

My Husband read the books series a few years ago.We were excited that it was going to be on tv. We saw the tv guide it said 10pm (we just went through a time change and didn’t thing about changing the time on out tv. SO at ten we turned it on. It was half way over. Yes we had one hour to watch. But we missed the 1st part. sigh.
It was really good. Now were just trying to find when and where if its going to be reaired. They defenetly have skipped alot. But thats what they got to do in a tv serise. You should read the BOOKs!!
